Primary Health Solutions to Acquire South Community Behavioral Health, Expanding Access to Behavioral Health Services

Primary Health Solutions (PHS) announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire South Community Behavioral Health (SCBH), a trusted provider of behavioral health services in the Dayton region since 1974. The acquisition is expected to become effective in July 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

SCBH has a long history of serving individuals and families with mental health and substance use services. By bringing South Community Behavioral Health into Primary Health Solutions, the organization will strengthen its ability to provide integrated, community-based care and expand access to behavioral health services across the region, particularly in the Greater Miami Valley region.

“This acquisition represents an important step in expanding access to integrated, whole-person care across the communities we serve,” said Stephen Roller, FANNP, FACHE, President and CEO of Primary Health Solutions. “By bringing behavioral health, primary care and supportive services together, we are strengthening our ability to meet patients where they are and improve health outcomes across the region.”

Lisa Carter, CEO of South Community Behavioral Health, added, “For decades, South Community Behavioral Health has been dedicated to providing compassionate, community-based behavioral health services. Joining Primary Health Solutions allows us to build on that legacy while expanding access to care for the individuals and families we serve. Most importantly, our patients will continue receiving the care they know and trust from the same teams who support them today.”

Services currently provided by SCBH will continue and employees will become employees of Primary Health Solutions. Patients can expect continuity of care, with additional coordination and access to resources over time.
